This is a new and highly advanced technology for the treatment of various skin disorders such as psoriasis, vitiligo, alopecia areata (alopecia) and common lichen.
The laser emits selective ultraviolet B radiation (UVB) wave (308 nm), which reduces skin inflammation. This procedure is convenient that the laser can illuminate only the affected area. Therefore, it is suitable for treatment of isolated small but hard-healing skin rashes – spots or lamellas. (Phototherapy usually prescribed only when rashes take more than 10–20 percent of area of the body.) The laser is particularly effective when it is necessary to affect psoriasis rashes incurable in the traditional ways on the skin of elbows or knees and treating of vitiligo (in order to avoid darkening of the surrounding skin).
Advantages of treatment with laser:
- It is being treated only a rash place, UV rays do not affect the healthy skin around it
- You can use more intensive treatment regime, as healthy skin is not lighted
- The effect is faster, therefore fewer procedures are needed
What to expect?
During the procedure you will feel the heat. After the procedure, the skin may be slightly flushed. Procedures are performed 2–3 times per week. The course of treatment can last for about 7 weeks (from 15 to 25 procedures). The treatment regime is selected according to the skin phototype, age, nature of rashes, and etc.
